About Us

For Latinas, a healthy life means enjoying food and movement in a way that expresses our culture and the love we have for our community. A lot of it has to do with having fun and expressing who we are at the core of our being, our comida y cultura. My dream is for all Latinas to embrace our culture by being joyful and healthy! – Ana

Empowering Latinas to Live Healthier Lives

In a world saturated with health and fitness content, it’s surprising to think that an entire segment of women has been left out. If you take a closer look, you’ll quickly see that healthy lifestyle approaches are not designed with Latinas in mind.

When Ana and her daughter Sada came together, they set out to change the wellness industry with a culturally inspiring solution that would help Latinas achieve a healthier life. Together they created a dedicated space to empower Latinas throughout their journey, starting with a community built on confianza (trust)…De Las Mías.

“We are always trying to look a certain way that we are told. The De Las Mías app helped me think about what my elders used to do to stay healthy. It was less about getting on the treadmill—it was more about having fun, being outdoors, and spending time with family.” – Leti

Unidas for a Healthy Life

Although diabetes and obesity statistics have worsened over the last ten years, on the upside, Latinas are early adopters of smartphones and social media. Ana and Sada saw this as an opportunity to deliver the De Las Mías message through an app, and provide culturally relevant information within a supportive community of tech-savvy Latinas.

De Las Mías helps Latinas build a healthy, balanced lifestyle through science-based approaches, healthy recipes, fitness, and community and family support. We believe that a healthy lifestyle is a result of knowledge, self-love, and empowerment. We also believe that we can be healthy at any size.

With the help of your madrinas, comadres, and friends, we show you a path that leads you to a powerful, fun, and supported life.

Sada Naegelin
Co-Founder

Excited by the idea for De Las Mías, Sada was just starting an MBA program in design strategy after 10 years in sales and marketing in the non-profit industry. Sada jumped into her education with this family venture in mind, and discovered a new way of doing business that was both creative and meaningful. Sada grasped how she and her family could use engagement to propel a community forward to meet a shared purpose.

“Having a supportive community is key to effective behavior change. We are all about helping women in the De Las Mías community achieve the change they are seeking and make it sustainable.” – Sada
